Piloting a light aircraft is one of the best kinds of adventure travel, and it had been one of my long-held ambitions to geta Private Pilots Licence (PPL).In 2004, I started studying for my ground exams at Kemble Aerodrome (now Cotswold Airport). While I was at Kemble, I was privileged to have the incredible opportunity to fly in an ex-RAF Hawker Hunter T7 fighter jet.In 2005, I travelled to Florida to do my PPL flying training with Ormond Beach Aviation at Ormond Beach Municipal Airport.Having obtained my Private Pilots Licence (PPL) and Night Qualification in Florida, I returned to Cotswold Airport where I enjoyed flying single engine piston aeroplanes; renting them from The Flying Club Kemble. In August 2007, I passed my Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) Rating at Oxford Airport.
